Registered Veterinary Technician
Kelsey grew up in Yorkton but spent a lot of time at her grandparent’s bird farm. She realized here that she had a love for helping all types of animals. She graduated from Saskatchewan Polytechnic in 2015 and moved to Regina later that year. She joined the Regent Park team in December 2017. She has two miniature dachshunds named Charlie and Odie. She has a special interest in animal nutrition and exotic pets.

Meet Dr. Paul (Palanivel Thanakkan) B.V.Sc-Veterinarian.
Dr. Paul has been practicing veterinary medicine for twenty-one years. He earned his degree from Madras Veterinary College, the oldest veterinary college in India. In his initial days of practice, he dealt with small and large animals.
After moving from India in 2008, Dr. Paul worked and volunteered in different small animal hospitals in British Columbia. He, his wife, and two sons moved to Regina to start Regent Park Animal Hospital. They are now happy to call Regina home.
Dr. Paul has vast experience not only in surgical and medicinal cases, but also in semen collection evolution, processing, and artificial insemination of small and large animals.
Animal Health Technician
Randi grew up on a farm in Manitoba and has always had a love for animals. She graduated from the Animal Health Technology program at Lakeland College in Alberta in 2009 and moved to Regina in 2010.
She loves to spend time with her family which also includes, Chester (Bull Mastiff), Silver (Cat) and her Horse Misty.
Meet Dr.Wendy Nugent, D.V.M
Dr. Wendy Nugent was born and raised in Lethbridge, Alberta. While growing up, she figure skated and showed horses for many years, and helped on her parent’s acreage where they had a variety of critters, including calves, lambs, pigs, chickens, ducks, guinea fowl, cats, and a dog. She moved to Saskatchewan in 1979 where she attended the University of Saskatchewan and the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, obtaining her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. She has resided in Regina for 30 years since graduating. After leaving Wascana Animal Hospital, and a short hiatus, she has now joined the staff of Regent Park Animal Hospital. She shares a love of Indian food with Dr. Paul!
Along with her two Standard Poodles, Rio and daughter Augie, she lives with her husband Glen Husack and two daughters, Kelly and Erin Husack. When she is not at the clinic, she spends her time at aquasize, and hiking out in the country with her dogs.
Leslie was born and raised in Regina. She is very passionate about animals and had spent many years volunteering at the local animal shelter. She has worked at vet clinics prior to joining the Regent Park Animal Hospital team in November 2017. Leslie enjoys spending time with her son and her two dogs; a basset hound named Wall-e and a Pit bull named Bella.
Karlyn was born and raised in Regina. She grew up playing baseball and hockey. In October 2018, she graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Bio-science. Karlyn has two cats named Claude and Tazzy. She hopes one day she can work with exotic animals such as lions, tigers and bears.
Milena was born in Israel. In 2008 she immigrated to Regina and has lived here ever since. She is hoping to become a veterinary technician in the upcoming future. Milena has a pet ferret by the name of Styopa and is fostering a cat from Regina Cat Rescue named Senya. She started out as a volunteer at Regent Park Animal Hospital and shortly after became a happy member of the team.
